We occasionally have in-store shows at Under the Mooch. Check our calender on ourmyspace page.
If you want to book your band at Under the Mooch please read this first.
I only book bands on Saturdays at 7pm. Start setting up at least thirty minutes before your set.
All shows are free and all ages. The bands do not get paid, but donations will be taken up for touring acts.
I have a PA system for vocals. Two mics, one mic stand. I do not have a rug for your drum kit.
I need your contact info to book a show including a phone number.
If you need to cancel, you have to tell me as soon as you know. Unless it's an emergency, or completely unavoidable do not cancel the day of the show.
The shows are played inside and the door must remain closed during the preformance. This is only because I've had residential neighbors complain about noise.
Booking here is subject to our tastes. We like to give local bands a chance, but not every style of music is right for the venue. If we're not into your band we'll let you know but please don't take it personally. If you want to grease the wheels as far as us allowing your band to play here, come in and spend some money. We are much more likely to let our customers' bands play here as opposed to someone who has never set foot in the store.
No cover bands. A few covers in your set is okay but no full on cover bands.
Touring acts should send me a link to their myspace. If I don't think the band is the right type of band for the store, I'll try to offer some suggestions as far as other clubs in town you might fair better at.
If you send me an email or myspace message or facebook or whatever and don't hear back from me, send another or give me a call. Sometimes I forget to respond to all my mail. And if you are using written language to correspond with me, do not use purposeful misspellings, internet abbreviations, 133t speak or an over abundance of urban slang. I find that shit annoying. Full sentences, people. Subjects. Predicates. Word.
Encourage your audience to buy some CDs or Records and help me keep an eye out for theft. The more shit gets stolen, the less hip I am on having in-stores.
Besides posting on myspace, I do not have time to promote shows. It's up to you to draw a crowd. The average crowd is 15-25 people. If you do not draw people in, please do not ask to play again. If you are a touring act I will try to book an appropriate local band to help get people in.
Please don't suck. (This rule applies to everywhere you play not just Under the Mooch.)
